Theory: Sasquatch Wood Knocking VS. Tongue Clicking

Hearing the loud distinct sounds of "Wood knocks" is a phenomenon often associated with Sasquatch. Conventional "wisdom", tells us that Sasquatch must be smacking rocks against trees, yet there are never any reports of tree damage to corroborate this theory. It's so widely accepted that it's common to see Bigfoot "Experts" do this on Bigfoot "Reality" Shows, and most "Bigfooters" can't help but test it out for themselves.

BUT THEN... I had the good fortune to read a report where one witness claimed to see a Sasquatch make these noises. To his surprise "tree knocking" was definitively NOT the cause. Instead, he reported that the Sasquatch was making the sound with his mouth in a manner that indicated the sound was made by clicking the tongue against the roof of the mouth.

At first, I found this hard to believe, but then I dug further and learned that many humans have demonstrated the ability to make this tongue-clicking noise in the 110-115 dB range. According to guinnessworldrecords.com

"Kunal Jain (Canada) generated a sound level reading of 114.2 dBA by clicking his tongue at Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada on 6 August 2003. As a comparison, a lawnmower is on average 90dBA and a car horn is 110 dBA."

Then I found this video of Tongue Click World Record Attempt and found it registering at an impressive, but unofficial, 114.6 dB

To put this in perspective the website sciencing.com states

"Any sound above 85 decibels has the potential to cause hearing damage" and "The sounds associated with jet planes measure between 120 and 140 decibels."

So, it stands to reason that if an average-sized human can produce a tongue click that's 6 decibels less than a jet engine, it's safe to assume that MUCH a larger primate in the 8 ft tall 1000lb range could make tongue-click far louder. In my opinion, it's more than likely the "Wood Knocking" theory has been overblown, and "Tongue-Clicking" has not been given enough credit. IMO tongue-clicking is the new "wood knock". ;] What say you?

P.S. You've already tied tongue-clicking since reading this article.

P.P.S. I fully anticipate that Bigfoot conventions will soon include "Tongue Clicking" competitions and be more popular than pig-calling contests at the State Fair.
