1. Who We Are

The Face of Sasquatch operates the Sasquatch Encounter Intelligence (SEI) App, a research and discovery platform that indexes eyewitness encounter reports from curated YouTube channels. We do not host or reproduce video content. We direct users to original sources via timestamped links.

2. What Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • A password (stored in encrypted form)

Payment Information

We offer two types of transactions, each handled by a separate platform:

  • Subscriptions and donations are processed by Stripe, Inc. You can review Stripe's privacy practices at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Print-on-demand merchandise is sold through Fourthwall. When you purchase merch, your name, shipping address, and payment details are collected and processed by Fourthwall, not by us. Fourthwall may also process payments via Apple Pay or other methods depending on your checkout choice. You can review Fourthwall's privacy practices at fourthwall.com/privacy.

We do not store your credit card number, bank details, or full payment information on our servers. Each platform is responsible for securing the data it collects.

Content You Submit

The SEI App allows you to submit:

  • Sighting account reports
  • Feedback and community notes
  • Channel or video requests

This content may be reviewed by our team and, if approved, displayed within the app. Do not submit sensitive personal information you would not want others to see.

Usage Data

We collect basic information about how you use the app, such as pages visited, features used, and session length. This helps us improve the platform. We do not currently use third-party analytics services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process subscriptions and donations through Stripe
  • Facilitate merchandise purchases through Fourthwall
  • Display and improve app features
  • Review and moderate user-submitted content
  • Respond to your questions or support requests
  • Send you occasional updates about the platform (you can opt out at any time)

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:

  • Stripe, Inc. -- to process subscriptions and donations. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment data.
  • Fourthwall -- to fulfill merchandise orders. When you buy merch, Fourthwall independently collects and controls your order and payment data. We do not receive your payment details from Fourthwall transactions.
  • Legal authorities -- if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.

We do not currently use advertising networks, marketing partners, or analytics providers that receive your data.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (for example, payment records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by tax law).

User-submitted content (sighting reports, notes) may remain in the platform after account deletion in anonymized or de-identified form.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications at any time

7. Children's Privacy

The SEI App is open to users of all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without consent, please contact us and we will remove the account promptly.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted storage of passwords. Payment and order security is handled directly by Stripe and Fourthwall within their respective platforms. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
